Introduction to Organic Certification Workshop - Southwestern Ontario

This workshop kicks off COG’s Organic Success Program, a program designed to assist Ontario farmers transition to certified organic production. This full-day workshop on April 1, in Guelph, ON, will help producers determine the differences between their current farming system and a certified organic farming system. The workshop will also include plenty of time for questions and discussion on how to operate a productive certified organic farm.

The workshop will be led by Ruth Knight, a Professional Agronomist and Organic Consultant with experience in organic certification inspections and livestock/pasture farming.

COST: $40 (includes HST), lunch provided.

 

The Organic Success Program will include:

  • Mock farm inspections;
  • Workshops on the certification process;
  • Educational resources for transitioning farms;
  • Farm tours and on-farm learning opportunities;
  • Support for marketing, operations planning and record-keeping;
  • Mentoring by successful organic producers;
  • A bursary to help offset certification costs.
